The UFC has announced its return to Brazil with UFC Fight Night 107 in Fortaleza.
The event will be headlined by a middleweight bout between #8 ranked Vitor Belfort and #10 ranked Kelvin Gastelum and takes place on March 11 at the Centro de Formação Olímpica do Nordeste. In addition, the card will feature a lightweight bout between Edson Barboza and Beneil Dariush.
Gastelum (13-2) is coming off of a recent victory over Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 in Toronto last weekend where he won the bout with an impressive third round TKO. Prior to that, the 25-year old scored a unanimous decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 200 in July.
Belfort (25-13), meanwhile, is coming off of back-to-back TKO losses to “Jacare” Souza and Gegard Mousasi. The 39-year old’s last victory was a head-kick stoppage of Dan Henderson in November 2015.
Ranked #5 at lightweight, Barboza (18-4) has won two straight unanimous decisions over former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and #12 ranked Gilbert Melendez. Dariush (14-2) knocked out James Vick in the first round of their bout at UFC 199 and followed that up with a decision win over Rashid Magomedov at UFN 98 in November.
