UFC schedules four fights ahead of debut event in Croatia

The UFC will hold its first event in Croatia on April 10 at UFC Fight Night Zagreb.

In the main event, Gabriel Gonzaga and Ruslan Magomedov will meet in a heavyweight bout.

Magomedov (14-1) is one of the fastest rising prospects in the heavyweight division. He is 3-0 in the UFC and holds wins over former UFC heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia and Ricco Rodriguez. Magomedov will enter the bout coming off of a unanimous decision win over Shawn Jordan at UFC 192.

Gabriel Gonzaga (17-10) has faced a recent rough patch in his career. Prior to his victory over Konstantin Erokhin, the 36-year old lost 3 fights in a row to Mirko ‘Cro Cop’, Matt Mitrione, and Stipe Miocic. Before that, he won two fights via knockout over Shawn Jordan and Dave Herman.

In the co-main event Jan Blachowicz will take on Igor Pokrajac. Blachowicz (18-5) is coming off of back to back losses to Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson. His last victory was a sub 2-minute knockout over Ilir Latifi. Pokrajac, a Croatian native, last fought for the UFC in 2014 before being released. He has gone 3-0 outside of the UFC with all wins coming by way of stoppage and will make his return this April in his home country.
