Taylor Lapilus got the third decision of the night at UFC Hamburg with his unanimous win over Leandro Issa. Lapilus utilized better footwork and combos from the hands to outstrike his foe in a three round battle. For Issa the fight was characterized by a takedown that would not come. He seemed to be staying away from Lapilus’s power in the second round and successfully dragged the fight to the ground, but he was unable to capitalize on his superior jiu-jitsu.
The win improves Lapilus to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the UFC. The loss is Issa’s second straight and he drops to 13-6 overall and 2-3 within the promotion.
