Nik Lentz had a dominating evening in his UFC contest against new’ish guy Michael McBride. McBride missed weight entering the fight so it was contested as a catchweight bout. Lentz, bearded and hair done in viking-style cornrows, took the fight to his opponent quickly with a flurry of offense. He hit a hard knee and took McBride’s back where he spent most of the rest of the round. Round 2 went in a similar fashion, and though McBride showed some flashes of intelligent defense throughout, he was outclassed by the veteran in every angle of the fight.
With the win Lentz moves to 27-7-2 overall. The former top ten fighter was originally scheduled to face Mairbek Taisumov but Taisumov was pulled due to visa issues. McBride replaced him on nine days notice and drops to 8-2 with the loss.
