UFC 202 Results: Donald Cerrone knocks out Rick Story in second round

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Rick Story squared off on the main card of UFC 202. Cerrone won the bout with a TKO in the second round.

Early in the fight, Cerrone unexpectedly shot in for a double leg takedown and landed in Story’s guard. He advanced to half guard before deciding to stand up and was pushed up against the fence by Story. Story used a trip to get Cerrone back to the ground, landed in his guard and escaped from omoplata and triangle choke attempts by the crafty veteran. “Cowboy” eventually got to his feet and the two men exchanged strikes from a distance where Cerrone landed two clean combinations before the end of the round.

The second round saw the two continue exchanging strikes while Cerrone landed with more authority. After landing a few hard leg kicks, Cerrone threw a combination that set up a headkick which Story ducked right into. “Cowboy” chased down the badly hurt Story and ended the fight with punches against the fence.

After the win, Cerrone called out lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, who he holds a win over. “I think I gotta do the 155 Eddie Alvarez fight. Let’s go, Madison Square Garden. Me and him. How about that?”
