UFC 200 Results: Amanda Nunes submits Miesha Tate in the first round to win bantamweight title
<p>Miesha Tate put her bantamweight title on the line for the first time in the main event of UFC 200 against #4 ranked Amanda Nunes. “The Lioness” shocked the MMA world with an upset victory, submitting Tate in the first round to win the belt.</p>
<p>Nunes, who is known as an aggressive starter, established her timing early on and was able to land several stiff jabs against the champion. She began following the jabs up with hard right hands midway through the round, opening up Tate’s nose and eventually dropping her, taking her back and sinking in the rear-naked choke.</p>
<p>Nunes broke down into tears following her record-setting victory on the biggest card in UFC history. “I’ve worked so hard for this moment in my life. I feel amazing. Now I’m going back to Brazil to visit my family,” the newly crowned champion said.</p>

<p>Nunes is now the only Brazilian UFC champion after Rafael Dos Anjos lost his title two days ago. She is also the first openly-gay UFC champion in history.</p>
