Four of the UFC’s top fifteen welterweights will be competing at UFC 207.
The promotion announced on Tuesday that former champion Johny Hendricks will be facing #9 ranked Neil Magny on the card in addition to a bout between #13 ranked Tarec Saffiedine and #14 ranked Matt Brown. The event takes place at the T-Mobile Arena on December 30 and will be headlined by the return of former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against current champion Amanda Nunes.
Since the loss of his title to Robbie Lawler at UFC 181, Hendricks (17-5) has gone 1-2 in three bouts. He rebounded from the loss with a decision win over Matt Brown but then suffered a first-round TKO to Stephen Thompson as well as a unanimous decision to Kelvin Gastelum. Magny (18-5) recently had a three-fight win streak snapped by TKO loss to Lorenz Larkin at UFC 202 in August. He is 10-2 in his last twelve fights.
Saffiedine (16-5) is coming off of a decision loss to Rick Story at UFC Fight Night 88. Since vacating his Strikeforce belt to enter the UFC, he has gone 2-2 with the wins being decisions over Hyun Gyu Lim and Jake Ellenberger. Brown (20-15) is coming off of back-to-back losses to Jake Ellenberger and Demian Maia, making him 1-4 in his last five fights. His most recent win is a first-round guillotine over Tim Means at UFC 189 in July 2015.
