Stipe Miocic vs Junior Dos Santos II in talks for UFC 211

Stipe Miocic’s next title defense will likely be against Junior dos Santos.

The matchup has not been officially confirmed by the UFC, but multiple sources including MMAFighting and Combate have reported the news.

The two first fought just over two years ago in the main event of UFC on FOX 13 where dos Santos was awarded the razor-close decision victory. The bout was also nominated for the 2014 Fight of the Year.

Since then, dos Santos (18-4) has gone 1-1 which includes a second-round TKO loss to Alistair Overeem and a unanimous decision win over Ben Rothwell in a five-round bout in April 2016.

Miocic (16-2), meanwhile, has won four straight since suffering the loss which includes his first-round knockout victory over Fabricio Werdum to win the heavyweight belt in May 2016. The other three wins are first-round knockouts over Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem and a fifth-round TKO over Mark Hunt.

UFC 211 takes place on May 13 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. So far, no bouts are official for the card.
