A featherweight bout between James Gallagher and Mike Cutting has been added to the main card of Bellator 158 in London.
Gallagher (3-0) is a 19-year old prospect who fights out of SBG Ireland under head coach John Kavanagh and alongside UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. “The Strabanimal” turned pro last year in October after going 5-1 as an amateur and beat Denis Ahern via first-round submission in his debut. Gallagher went on to beat his next two opponents via first-round submission before it was announced in April that he was signed by Bellator.
Mike Cutting (6-5), who will also be making his Bellator debut, has had a relatively inconsistent career, going 2-2 in his last four outings. The Englishman will be entering this fight coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Declan Dalton at BAMMA 24 in February. Prior to that, Cutting beat Nathanial Wood via armbar in the first round. All but two of Cutting’s professional bouts have ended via submission within the first two rounds.
Bellator 158 will take place at the O2 Arena in London, England on July 26 and will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Paul Daley and former welterweight champion Douglas Lima. The co-main event features a bout between rising star Michael “Venom” Page and Evangelista Santos.
