Robbie Lawler set to defend title against Tyron Woodley at UFC 201
<p>The main event for UFC 201 has been revealed.</p>
<p>Robbier Lawler will defend his welterweight title against Tyron Woodley in the headliner of UFC 201, <a href="http://www.ufc.com/news/Lawler-Woodley-Headlines-UFC-201-Card">the UFC announced Tuesday afternoon</a>. The bout will take place on July 30 at the Phillip’s Center in Atlanta, Georgia making it the promotion’s third event to be hosted in Atlanta.</p>
<p>Robbie Lawler (27-10, 1 NC) has defended his belt twice since dethroning Johny Hendricks at UFC 181 to win the title. Lawler’s most recent victory is over Carlos Condit in a candidate for <em>Fight of the Year</em> last January when he won a split-decision. The 34-year old is most renowned for his career resurgence which began in 2013 in his return to the UFC where he compiled an 8-1 record.</p>
<p>Woodley (15-3) last fought at UFC 183 when he beat Kelvin Gastelum via split-decision. He was expected to face Johny Hendricks in October but the fight was cancelled after Hendricks was hospitalized due to weight cutting complications. Since then, Woodley has remained on the sidelines waiting for his shot at the title.</p>
<p>Also on the card is a welterweight bout between Siyar Bahadurzada and Claudio Silva as well as a lightweight bout between César Arzamendia and Damien Brown.</p>
