Ricardo Lamas vs Charles Oliveira slated for UFN 98 in Mexico

A bout between #4 ranked featherweight Ricardo Lamas and #8 ranked Charles Oliveira has been added to UFC Fight Night 98 in Mexico City.

Lamas (16-5) was originally expected to face BJ Penn at UFC Fight Night Manila on October 15 but an injury forced Penn out of the bout resulting in the cancellation of the entire card. He is 3-2 in his last five bouts with the most significant win being a first-round stoppage of Dennis Bermudez with a guillotine. He is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway at UFC 199.

Also coming off of a loss is Oliveira (21-6, 1 NC) who was submitted by former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in the third round of their co-main event bout at UFC on FOX 21. Prior to that, Oliveira stopped rising prospect Myles Jury with a first-round guillotine.

UFC Fight Night 98 will be headlined by a lightweight bout between former champion Rafael Dos Anjos and current #3 ranked contender Tony Ferguson. The event takes place on November 5 at the Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City and will also feature The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3 finale.
