Paddy Pimblett and Johnny Frachey will meet in the co-main event of CWFC 78 for the vacant featherweight title, the promotion announced today.
The title, which has been previously held by Conor McGregor and Jim Alers, was recently vacated by Alex Enlund who is scheduled to make his UFC debut later this year.
At just 21 years of age, Pimblett (11-1) has fought professionally for four years, suffering just one loss in his career. He has been fighting for CWFC since 2013 where he amassed a 6-1 record with three finishes. In April, he faced veteran Ashleigh Grimshaw and won the bout with a unanimous decision. More recently, he submitted Teddy Violet with a rear-naked choke in the second round of their bout at CWFC 77.
Johnny Frachey (18-10) had a five-fight win streak snapped by Luis Alberto Nogueira who submitted him with an arm-triangle last March at WFCA 16. The streak consisted of two finishes, a submission over Alexandru Mezei and a TKO over Vladimir Volinkin, in addition to three decision victories.
CFWC 78 takes place on September 10 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England and will be headlined by Chris Fishgold vs Jason Ponet.
