Khabib Nurmagomedov is out of UFC 209.
A statement by the UFC has explained that Nurmagomedov was hospitalized due to weight cut issues and was pulled from his bout against Tony Ferguson just one day out. He has been treated and discharged, according the statement.
The two were expected to meet in the co-main event of the card for the interim lightweight title.
This is the third time that the matchup has been scheduled and then cancelled. In 2015, they were expected to fight at the TUF 22 Finale but an injury forced Nurmagomedov off the card. In 2016, they were supposed to fight at UFC on FOX 19 but Ferguson was forced out due to a lung issue.
A fight from the undercard will likely be elevated to the main card to take its place.
UFC 209 takes place on Saturday night and will be headlined by a welterweight title fight and rematch between champion Tyron Woodley and challenger Stephen Thompson.
