Neil Magny vs Hector Lombard booked as co-main event of UFC Brisbane

#8 ranked contender Neil Magny will take on Hector Lombard in a welterweight bout in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 84.

Neil Magny (17-4) is well-known for being an active fighter and has fought 10 times within the past 2 years alone, going 9-1. His 7 fight win streak was snapped by Demian Maia at UFC 190, where he lost via second-round submission. Magny later attended a BJJ seminar held by Demian Maia. Most recently, Magny beat #12 ranked Kelvin Gastelum via split decision in a Fight of the Night performance.

Hector Lombard (34-4-1, 2 NC) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Josh Burkman that was overturned into a No Contest after he tested positive for the steroid desoxymethyltestosterone. Lombard was subsequently suspended from competition for one year. Previous to that, Lombard was coming off of two dominant victories over Jake Shields and Nate Marquardt.

UFC Fight Night 84 will take place on March 19 in Brisbane, Australia and will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Frank Mir and Mark Hunt.
