Jorge Masivdal will now face Jake Ellenberger at The Ultimate Fighter 24 finale, the UFC announced. Masivdal was originally expected to meet Kelvin Gastelum at the TUF 23 finale in Mexico City but Gastelum was rescheduled to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 205, leaving Masvidal without an opponent.
After suffering back-to-back split-decision losses to Benson Henderson and Lorenz Larkin, Masvidal (30-11) faced Ross Pearson in a welterweight bout at UFC 201 where he won a unanimous decision. The 31-year old has gone 2-2 since moving up to 170 pounds.
Ellenberger (31-11) also fought at UFC 201 where he defeated Matt Brown via TKO in under two minutes. The win was his first since last year when he suffered losses to Stephen Thompson and Tarec Saffiedine.
The Ultimate Fighter 24 finale takes place on December 3 at the Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. The card will be headlined by the winner of TUF 24 against Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title.
