WSOF bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes is scheduled to defend his title against Joseph Barajas at WSOF 28 on February 20.
Marlon Moraes (15-4-1) was signed by WSOF back in 2012 where he made his debut against the seasoned UFC veteran Miguel Torres and beat him by split-decision. Moraes won his next 3 fights in WSOF, finishing two of his opponents by knockout in the first round. After going 4-0 in the organization, he won the bantamweight title and has since made 2 successful title defenses in addition to a win over Cody Bollinger that would have been an official title defense had Bollinger not missed weight. Moraes currently rides a 10-fight win streak and has not tasted defeat since 2011.
Joseph Barajas (12-1) has only one fight in WSOF— a third round TKO victory over Erik Villalobos at WSOF 25 in November. He started his professional MMA career in 2011 and amassed a 10-0 record fighting for smaller organizations like Xplode Fight Series and Gladiator Challenge. His only loss came at the hands of Sirwan Kakai at Titan FC 31 in 2014. He bounced back by winning a fight in May before being signed by WSOF.
WSOF 28 takes place in Garden Grove, California on Feb. 20. The event will be aired live by NBC Sports Network.
