Linton Vassell injured, Lukasz Klinger to face Francis Carmont at Bellator 158

A few changes have been made to Bellator 158.

Linton Vassell was forced out of his matchup against Francis Carmont with an injury and will be replaced by Lukasz Klinger. Also, a heavyweight bout between James Mulheron and Neil Grove has been added to the card.

Carmont (24-11) signed with Bellator in 2014 and made his debut a few months later against Guilherme Viana who he beat via unanimous decision. After that, the former UFC middleweight faced Anthony Ruiz in the alternate bout of the light-heavyweight tournament at Bellator: Dynamite 1 and won via unanimous decision. That night, Muhammad Lawal, who was expected to face Phil Davis in the finals of the tournament, suffered an injury that didn’t allow him to compete and was replaced by Carmont who ended up losing the fight via knockout in the first round.

Polish light-heavyweight prospect Lukasz Klinger (7-2), who will be making his Bellator debut against Carmont, is coming off of a knockout loss to Atanas Djambazov last April under a local promotion in Bulgaria. The 32-year old won his first six professional bouts before being stopped by Tomasz Kondraciuk via knockout in the first round.

Bellator 158 is set to take place at the O2 Arena in London on July 16. Headlining the card are welterweight contenders Paul Daley and Douglas Lima in addition to a bout between Michael “Venom” Page and Evangelista Santos in the coheadliner.
