Liam McGeary already has his next fight booked.

Shortly after his win over Brett McDermott, Bellator announced that the former light-heavyweight champion will be facing Linton Vassell at Bellator 179 in London.

McGeary (12-1) defeated McDermott by second-round doctor stoppage last weekend. The fight was his first since losing his 205-lb title to Phil Davis at Bellator 163 in November. Prior to that, he was undefeated and held wins over Tito Ortiz by submission and Emmanuel Newton by decision.

Vassell (17-5, 1 NC) is coming off of back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Francis Carmont and Emmanuel Newton. Prior to that, the Englishman suffered a decision loss to “King Mo” Lawal at Bellator 142 in a light-heavyweight tournament semifinal bout.

Bellator 179 takes place at the Wembley Arena in London, England on May 19. The card will be headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC welterweights Rory MacDonald and Paul Daley. The card will also feature a bout between Michael “Venom” Page and Derek Anderson.
