The former flyweight title challenger has signed with RIZIN FF and will be making his promotional debut against Yuki Motoya on April 16. The event, RIZIN FF 5, will be held at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. So far, it is the only matchup that has been announced for the card but the likes of Tatsuya Kawajiri and Satoshi Ishii are scheduled to fight as well.

Horiguchi (18-2) rides a three-fight win streak which consists of unanimous decision wins over Ali Bagautinov, Neil Seery, and Chico Camus. His last loss was a fifth-round submission to flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in April 2015 which was just the second of his 20-fight career.

Motoya (18-4) is on an 11-fight unbeaten streak and hasn’t suffered a loss since 2013. His most recent win is a split-decision over Allan Nascimento at RIZIN FF 3 last December.
