Koscheck vs Daley II set for Bellator 158

Paul Daley and Josh Koscheck will square off for the second time at Bellator 158.

Daley and Koscheck first fought at UFC 113 in a welterweight title eliminator in 2010. Despite the trash talk in the build-up, the fight was mostly uneventful and saw Koscheck win a unanimous decision using his wrestling to neutralize Daley’s striking. After the fight, however, Daley sucker-punched Koscheck which resulted in him getting cut by the UFC.

Six years later, the pair will co-headline Bellator 158 in London which features a rematch between Kimbo Slice and James Thompson. The card will also feature English fighters Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Linton Vassell whose opponents have not yet been announced.

Koscheck (17-10) was expected to headline Bellator 148 against Matt Secor but was forced out of the bout with an injury. The former UFC welterweight title challenger has suffered five straight losses since 2012 after which he was released by the UFC.

Daley (38-13-2) on the other hand currently rides a five-fight win streak, four of which have come by knockout. The 33-year old pro kickboxer last fought in the main event of Bellator 148 where he beat Andy Uhrich by knockout in just two-minutes. Prior to that Daley faced Dennis Olson who he beat via second-round TKO.

Bellator 158 will take place on July 16 at the O2 Arena in London.
