Korean Zombie vs Dennis Bermudez targeted for SuperBowl weekend headliner

It looks like Chan Sung Jung will be back in action early next year.

A report by MMAFighting.com has revealed that the UFC is in the process of booking a bout between “The Korean Zombie” and Dennis Bermudez to headline the Super Bowl weekend event in Houston.

Jung (14-4) hasn’t fought since his 2013 title loss to Jose Aldo at UFC 163. Following the bout, he returned to his home country of South Korea to fulfill his mandatory, two-year military service duty. In a 2014 interview with MMAFighting he said that the time off may benefit his MMA career in the long run since he would be able to sharpen his skills without breaking down his body.

Bermudez (16-5) is currently on a two-fight winning streak which consists of unanimous decision victories over Tatsuya Kawajiri and Rony Jason. Prior to that, he suffered back-to-back losses to Ricardo Lamas and Jeremy Stephens which snapped his seven-fight win streak.

UFC Fight Night 104 takes place on February 4 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. So far, no bouts have been officially confirmed for the card.
