Justin Salas vs Jason Saggo booked for UFC 196

Justin Salas and Jason Saggo will meet in a lightweight bout at UFC 196 on March 5th, as announced by the UFC.


Salas (12-6) will be making his return to competition after a nearly two-year hiatus. Salas has gone 3-3 since entering the UFC in 2012. His most notable win is over longtime UFC veteran Aaron Riley who he beat via split-decision. His last two fights were a knockout win over Ben Wall and a TKO loss to Joe Proctor at UFC Fight Night 45.


Jason Saggo (10-2) was signed by the UFC in 2014 after going 9-1 in regional promotions. He made his debut at UFC 174 where he beat Josh Shockley via first-round TKO. His last fight was a split-decision loss to Paul Felder at UFC Fight Night 54.


UFC 196 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Rafael Dos Anjos and Conor McGregor. Miesha Tate will have a shot at Holly Holm’s bantamweight title in the co-main event. The card takes place on March 5 in Las Vegas.
