Jussier Formiga vs Sergio Pettis booked for UFC Fight Night 103

A report by MMAFighting.com has revealed that a flyweight bout between Jussier Formiga and Sergio Pettis has been booked for UFC Fight Night 103.

Formiga (19-4), who is ranked #3 on the official UFC flyweight rankings, is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Dustin Ortiz in September. Prior to that, he lost a split decision to Henry Cejudo which snapped his three fight win streak over Wilson Reis, Zach Makosvky, and Scott Jorgenson.

Pettis (14-2) is 4-1 in his last five outings and is coming off of back-to-back decision victories over Chris Cariaso and Chris Kelades. Before the two wins, he suffered a third-round TKO loss to Ryan Benoit at UFC 185.

UFC Fight Night 103, the first event of 2017, takes place in Pheonix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on January 15. So far, the card does not have a main event but announced bouts include Ben Saunders vs Court McGee and Erik Koch vs Tony Martin.
