Jim Miller vs Joe Lauzon set to rematch at UFC on FOX 21

Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon will meet for the second time on August 27.

In their first bout, Miller dominated early on but Lauzon managed to weather the storm and turn the rest of the bout into a close back-and-forth battle. Miller ended up winning the bout, which was officially named the Fight of the Year in 2012, with a unanimous decision. The UFC announced their rematch on Monday.

Miller (26-8, 1 NC) is coming off of an TKO victory over Japanese MMA legend Takanori Gomi at UFC 200 who he finished in just over two minutes. The victory got Miller back in the win column after he suffered back-to-back losses to Diego Sanchez and Michael Chiesa. His most recent victory prior to that was a split-decision against Team Alpha Male’s Danny Castillo.

Also coming off of a quick TKO victory at UFC 200 is Joe Lauzon (26-11) who managed to stop Diego Sanchez in under 90 seconds into the opening round, earning himself his fourteenth post-fight bonus. Last December, at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale, Lauzon faced Evan Dunham and lost a unanimous decision. Prior to that, Lauzon beat Takanori Gomi via TKO in the first round of their bout at UFC on FOX 16 in Chicago.

UFC on FOX 21 is set to take place on August 27 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. So far, no main event has been announced for the card but notable matchups include Anthony Pettis’ featherweight debut against Charles Oliveira and Paige VanZant vs Bec Rawlings
