James Gallagher vs Kirill Medvedovsky added to Bellator 163

Featherweight prospects James “The Strabanimal” Gallagher and Kirill Medvedovsky will square off on the main card of Bellator 163 in Tel Aviv.

Gallagher (4-0), who fights under head coach John Kavanagh of SBG Ireland, signed with Bellator a few months ago and made his debut against Mike Cutting, who he beat via unanimous decision. Prior to that, the undefeated up-and-comer had submitted all three of his opponents in the first round. The 19-year old turned pro in October last year after going 5-1 as an amateur.

The hometown fighter Medvedovsky (7-2), who is scheduled to face Daiki Gojima at a Pancrase event in October before fighting Gallagher, last fought against Magomed Ginazov in March who he lost to by unanimous decision. He entered that fight coming off of a 27-second knockout win over Evgeny Zhekalov at a local MMA event in Ukraine.

Bellator 163 will be headlined by the rematch between Andrey Koreshkov and Douglas Lima for the 170-pound title. The pair first fought at Bellator 140 where Koreshkov snapped Lima’s five-fight finish streak to win his title. The event is set to take place on November 10 at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel.
