James “The Strabanimal” Gallagher is set to face Anthony Taylor in the co-main event of Bellator 169 in December, the promotion announced on Friday.
Gallagher (4-0) was signed by Bellator earlier this year and made his debut at Bellator 158 against Mike Cutting, who he beat by unanimous decision. The 20-year old, who fights out of SBG Ireland under head coach John Kavanagh, beat all three of his prior opponents by first-round submission. He holds a 5-1 record as an amateur and turned pro last year at the age of 19.
Taylor (1-1) made his pro debut against Adin Duenas at Bellator 147 in December last year where he lost via rear-naked choke in the first round. He is coming off of a 27-second TKO victory over Victor Jones at Bellator 154.
Bellator 169 will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between former Strikeforce champion “King Mo” Lawal and Olympic judo gold-medalist Satoshi Ishii at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
