Ian McCall vs Ray Borg removed from UFC 203 due to illness

The flyweight bout between Ian McCall and Ray Borg, which was originally set to kick off the FS1 prelims, has been scrapped from UFC 203.

The promotion revealed Thursday morning that Borg fell ill and was forced out of this weekend’s bout. This marks the second time in a row that McCall’s opponent withdraws from their fight just days away. He was expected to face Justin Scoggins at UFC 201 in July but Scoggins wasn’t able to make the contracted weight leading to the cancellation of the fight.

McCall (13-5-1) last fought at UFC 183 where he faced John Lineker, who entered the fight overweight, and suffered a unanimous decision loss, snapping his two-fight win streak over Iliarde Santos and Brad Pickett.

The FS1 prelims will now be opened by CB Dollaway’s light-heavyweight debut against Francimar Barroso. Dollaway (15-8) is currently on three-fight losing streak with his most recent fight being a knockout loss to Nate Marquardt. Barroso (18-5) is coming off of a submission loss to Nikita Krylov at UFC Rotterdam in May. He is 2-2 in his past four outings.

UFC 203 will take place on September 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The card will be headlined by Stipe Miocic’s first defense of his heavyweight title against Alistair Overeem.
