Hyun Gyu Lim vs Sultan Aliev added to UFC 202

A welterweight bout between Hyun Gyu Lim and Sultan Aliev is the latest addition to UFC 202.

UFC 202 will be headlined by the highly-anticipated rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor at 170-pounds. The only other bout that was officially announced is the one between Lim and Aliev but reports have revealed that matchups between Cody Garbrandt and Takeya Mizugaki as well as CM Punk and Mickey Gall are in the works for the card.

After going 2-0 with two knockouts in the UFC, Lim (13-5-1) faced Tarec Saffiedine in the main event of the UFC’s debut in Singapore but suffered a unanimous decision loss, snapping his seven-fight win streak. “The Ace” bounced back from the defeat by knocking out Takenori Sato with elbows just over a minute into the opening round at UFC Fight Night 52 in Saitama, Japan. It has been over a year since Lim’s last fight, a second-round TKO loss to #7 ranked Neil Magny, due to his battle with injuries.

Sultan Aliev (13-2) has fought just once in the UFC, losing his debut to Kenny Robertson via knockout in the first round. The 31-year old, who has fought twice for Bellator, has spent the significant part of his career fighting under local promotions across eastern Europe.

UFC 202 will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Center on August 20.
