Gunnar Nelson and Dong Hyun Kim set to headline UFC Belfast

The UFC will be returning to Belfast for UFC Fight Night 99 which will be headlined by Ireland’s own Gunnar Nelson and #10 ranked Dong Hyun Kim.               

The news was announced by the UFC on Thursday night. The event is set to take place on November 19 at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. So far, no other matchups on the card have been revealed.

Nelson (15-2-1) is coming off of an impressive victory over fellow welterweight prospect Albert Tumenov at UFC Rotterdam in May. Nelson won the bout with a submission in the second round which earned him his third overall Performance of the Night bonus in eight UFC fights. Prior to that, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Demian Maia at UFC 194.

Kim (21-3-1, 1 NC) last fought at UFC Fight Night 79 in what was the UFC’s first event in his home country of South Korea. He faced Dominic Waters and won via first-round TKO, making him 6-1 in his last seven outings. Prior to that, he submitted Josh Burkman with an arm-triangle in the third round of their bout at UFC 187 getting himself back into the win column after his loss to Tyron Woodley.
