UFC Fight Night 105 now has a main event.
A heavyweight bout between #8 ranked Derrick Lewis and #9 ranked Travis Browne, which was originally scheduled for UFC 208, will now headline the card. Originally, the rematch between former champion Junior Dos Santos and #11 ranked Stefan Struve was set as the headliner, but Struve was forced out of the bout with an injury and Dos Santos subsequently announced his withdrawal from the card.
Lewis (17-4, 1 NC) is currently on a five-fight win streak with four of those victories coming by way of knockout. His most recent victory was over Shamil Abdurakhimov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 102 in December where he won by fourth-round TKO. Prior to that, he won a split-decision over Roy Nelson and scored a first-round knockout over Gabriel Gonzaga.
Browne (18-5-1) is 1-2 in his last three fights and is coming off of back-to-back losses. His last bout was a unanimous decision loss to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 203 in September which was preceded by a first-round knockout loss to Cain Velasquez. It was revealed, however, that he will not be training at Glendale Fighting Club for this camp and will instead train at Black House in Los Angeles.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on February 19.
