Former UFC welterweights Dhiego Lima and David Michaud will meet at Titan FC 39 in a welterweight title eliminator.
Lima (10-4), brother of Bellator’s Douglas Lima, announced his release from the UFC last July following a first-round knockout loss to Li Jingliang. His overall UFC record was 1-3, which includes a decision win over Jorge de Oliveira and a loss to Tim Means. Lima appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 19 and made it to the finals before losing to Eddie Gordon via first-round knockout. This fight will be Lima’s first since his release from the promotion.
After being released by the UFC in April last year, Michaud (9-2) made his return to competition against Chris Hugh at RFA 37, who he beat via first-round guillotine. Prior to that, Michaud was 1-2 in the UFC with a win over Garett Whiteley and losses to Li Jingliang and Olivier Aubin-Mercier.
Titan FC 39 will be headlined by a bout between Pat Healy and Gesias Cavalcante for the vacant lightweight title. The event is scheduled to take place on June 10 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida.
