Chinzo Machida promotional debut at Bellator 160 against Mario Navarro

Chinzo Machida, the elder brother of former light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, is set to make his Bellator debut this month at Bellator 160.

Despite having just five professional fights, Machida (3-2) began his career back in 2005 with Brazilian-based promotion Jungle Fight. He went 1-2 in his first three bouts but has managed to get back in the win column with back-to-back victories. In 2013, he impressively finished Brian Wood with a flying knee inside the first round and followed that up with a decision win over Dmitry Gerasimov at RFA 15.

Mario Navarro (4-4), on the other hand, is coming off of two straight losses and is 4-1 in his last five outings. The 33-year old signed with Bellator in 2012 and has fought three times for the promotion. In 2013, he lost a unanimous decision to Cleber Luciano at Bellator 85. More recently, he was submitted by Brandon Bender with a second-round rear-naked choke at Bellator 116.

Bellator 160 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on August 26 and will be headlined by Benson Henderson vs Patricio Freire. The card will be a part of a combat-sports double header which features an event promoted by Premier Boxing Champions the following night.
