TUF Nations winner Chad Laprise is out of his upcoming bout at UFC 206.
The 30-year-old Canadian was expected to face fellow welterweight Li Jingliang in front of the Toronto crowd in December but an injury forced him off the card, according to a report released by the UFC. The promotion will not look for a replacement for Laprise and Jingliang will be booked on another card in the near future. The event will continue on with a total of 13 bouts.
Laprise is coming off of a 96-second TKO of Thibault Gouti at UFC on FOX 21 in August. Jingliang, also coming off of a quick knockout victory, took just over two and a half minutes to finish Anton Zafir at the TUF 23 finale in July.
So far, no details of Laprise’s injury have been revealed.
UFC 206 takes place on December 10 at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event will be headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson with a featherweight bout between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis in the co-main event. Also on the card are bouts between Tim Kennedy and Rashad Evans as well as Donald Cerrone and Matt Brown.
