Two bouts have been added to UFC on FOX 23.
#5 ranked welterweight Donald Cerrone will face #13 ranked Jorge Masivdal on the card in addition to a heavyweight bout between Francis Ngannou and Andrei Arlovski.
Cerrone (32-7, 1 NC) is coming off of a recent victory at UFC 206 in Toronto over Matt Brown who he knocked out with a head kick in the third round. The win extended Cerrone’s welterweight record to a perfect 4-0 with all of those wins coming by way of stoppage. Masvidal (31-11) has gone 3-2 since making the move up to 170 pounds and is coming off of back-to-back victories over Ross Pearson and Jake Ellenberger.
Ngannou (9-1) is 4-0 in the UFC with three of the wins coming by way of knockout and one by submission. His most recent victory is a first-round submission of Anthony Hamilton via kimura. Arlovski (25-13), meanwhile, has lost three straight to Sipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett breaking his previous six-fight win streak.
UFC on FOX23 will be headlined by a women’s bantamweight bout between Juliana Pena and Valentina Shevchenko in what is likely a #1 contender bout. The event takes place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on January 28.
