A report by MMAFighting has confirmed that a bantamweight bout between England’s Brad Pickett and Iuri Alcantara is set to take place at UFC 204.
The event will take place in Manchester, England on October 8 and will be headlined by the rematch between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson for the middleweight title. Other unofficially announced bouts include Jimi Manuwa vs Ovince St. Preux and Stefan Struve vs Ruslan Magomedov.
Pickett (25-11), who was expected to face Henry Briones in September before Briones was pulled from the fight, is coming off of a split-decision victory over Francisco Rivera at UFC London in February. Prior to that, the 36-fight veteran moved back up to bantamweight from flyweight against Thomas Almeida, who he lost to via knockout in the second round. The Englishman is 1-3 in his last four outings.
Alcantara (33-7, 1 NC) last fought at UFC on FOX 18 where he faced Jimmie Rivera and dropped a unanimous decision in a Fight of the Night performance. Prior to that, he beat Leandro Issa at UFC 190 in Brazil via decision. His most successful run in the UFC thus far has been a three-fight win streak in 2014 which was eventually broken by a loss to Frankie Saenz.
