Three bouts added to Bellator 161 prelims

Bellator has announced the addition of three preliminary bouts to Bellator 161.

Kenya Miranda (2-2) will square off against fellow flyweight Emily Ducote (3-1) in the main prelim bout. Both of Miranda’s wins have been finishes over Natalia Silva, a TKO in April last year followed by a first-round rear-naked choke in September. Ducote has won three straight with her most recent victory being a submission over Bruna Vargas in July.

Also on the card is a featherweight bout between UFC veteran Daniel Pineda (21-12) and Mark Dickman (11-2). The 31-year old Pineda went on a three fight win streak after his run in the UFC was cut short in 2014 but suffered a split-decision loss to Emmanuel Sanchez in February. Dickman is 6-1 in his last seven outings with his most recent win being a third round TKO of Ousmane Thomas Diagne at Bellator 154.

The last addition is a middleweight bout between Francisco France (13-4-1) and Gregory Babene (17-11). France recently had a seven-fight unbeaten streak stopped by Kendall Grove at Bellator 150 in February. The streak consisted of five submission victories. Babene, on the other hand, is 5-1 in his past seven fights and is coming off of back-to-back submission wins against Renat Lyatifov and Brandon Farran.

Bellator 161 takes place on September 16 at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Cheick Kongo and Tony Johnson and will air live and free on Spike TV.
