Blagoy Ivanov to defend heavyweight title vs Shawn Jordan at WSOF 35

Blagoy Ivanov is set to make his third heavyweight title defense against UFC veteran Shawn Jordan at WSOF 35.

The matchup was announced during the WSOF 34 broadcast last weekend. So far, no other bouts have been announced for the card. The event, which does not yet have a confirmed venue, takes place on February 25.

Ivanov (14-1, 1 NC) has won three straight with two of the wins coming by way of stoppage. His most recent win is a unanimous decision victory over Josh Copeland at WSOF 31 in June 2016, prior to which he stopped Derrick Mehmen with a second-round TKO at WSOF 24. He went on a notable four-fight win streak in Bellator between 2013 and 2014 which includes a submission of UFC veteran Lavar Johnson.

Jordan (19-7), meanwhile, is 4-1 in his last five fights. He made his WSOF debut in October where he stopped Ashley Gooch with a first-round TKO. Prior to that, he fought the last fight on his UFC contract against Ruslan Magomedov who beat him by unanimous decision at UFC 192.
