Bellator 151 Co-Main: Michael Page vs. Fernando Gonzalez

Bellator officials announced the co-main event for Bellator 151 as the welterweight matchup between Fernando Gonzalez and Michael Page. Both men are highly ranked in the welterweight division, Gonzalez is number five, and will try and utilize a win to vie for a title shot.

Fernando Gonzalez (24-13, 4-0 in Bellator) is undefeated since joining Bellator in 2014. However, a big caveat to his record and his streak is his performance in the Bellator Dynamite mashup. Squaring off against Paul Daley, another Bellator welterweight, in the Glory Kickboxing portion of the card, Gonzalez lost a unanimous decision. Nonetheless, Gonzalez submitted Curtis Millender at Bellator 137 and will look to capitalize on his streak of MMA wins.

Michael Page (9-0, 5-0 in Bellator) is an explosive up-and-comer and someone that Bellator hopes continues to rise. An English product, Page has only been fighting since 2012. But with nine consecutive wins (eight of which were by finish), he’s proven to be vicious in the cage. His most recent win, a TKO stoppage in the first round against Charlie Ontiveros, epitomizes why the organization is excited about him: he fights in a cocky, flashy style, but also gets results.

Bellator 151 is headlined by Joe Warren and Darrion Caldwell, and will take place at Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on March 4th.
