Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will be facing #8 ranked Derek Brunson at UFC 208.
The fight will serve as the co-main event of the card, which is headlined by the inaugural women’s UFC featherweight title fight between former bantamweight champion Holly Holm and renowned former Muay Thai champion Germaine de Randamie.
Silva (33-8, 1 NC) last fought at UFC 200 where he faced light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier on three days notice in a non-title bout. He lost the fight by unanimous decision making him 0-4 with 1 no-contest in his last five bouts, the no-contest being an overturned decision victory over Nick Diaz. Last February, he suffered a decision loss to Michael Bisping in a close bout that was awarded Fight of the Night.
Brunson (16-4) recently had a five-fight win streak stopped with a TKO loss to Robert Whittaker in their main event bout at UFC Fight Night 101. The streak consisted of four knockout victories over the likes of Uriah Hall and Sam Alvey.
The event takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on February 11.
