Alexander Shlemenko set to face Kendall Grove in Bellator return

Alexander Shlemenko will face Kendall Grove in his return to Bellator.

Bellator president Scott Coker appeared on ESPN Wednesday afternoon where he revealed that Shlemenko and Grove would square off at Bellator 162, which is set to take place at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. He also announced that Bobby Lashley would be fighting on the card against an unnamed opponent.

Shlemenko (53-9, 1 NC) is returning from a one-and-a-half-year suspension given by the California State Athletic Commission after he tested positive for elevated testosterone in his overturned knockout win against Melvin Manhoef in 2015. While still under contract with Bellator, and during his CSAC suspension, Schlemenko fought twice for M-1 Global in Russia. In February he faced Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, who he beat via split-decision and then rematched him later in June, this time winning the fight via guillotine in round three.

Also on a two-fight win streak is Grove (23-15, 1 NC) who TKO’ed Joey Beltran at Bellator 143 in September. More recently, he knocked out Francisco France at Bellator 150 in February. He is 3-1 in his last four outings.
