Alexander Gustaffson injured, Ryan Bader to face Antonio Nogueira at UFN 100

The UFC has announced that Ryan Bader will be facing Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 100 in place of an injured Alexander Gustafsson.

After a year-long layoff due to injuries, Gustafsson made his return at UFC Fight Night 93 where he beat Jan Blachowicz by unanimous decision and was set up for a quick return against Nogueira. The exact injury he suffered hasn’t been disclosed but this is the third attempt at booking about between the two.

Bader (21-5), however, has faced Nogueira once before and won the bout with a unanimous decision at UFC 119. More recently, he was on a 5-fight win streak before he was stopped in the first round against Anthony Johnson at UFC on FOX 18. His last fight was a knockout win over Ilir Latifi at UFN 93 making him 6-1 in his last seven.

Nogueira (22-7) is coming off of a knockout win over Patrick Cummins at UFC 198, which took place at the 45,000 seat Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil. Prior to that, the Brazilian legend had suffered back-to-back losses to “Shogun” Rua and Anthony Johnson.

UFC Fight Night 100 takes place at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 19.
