Aldo McGregor Fight for Featherweight Supremacy at UFC 194

When we last checked in with the UFC featherweight title situation, UFC brass was looking at AT&T stadium in Dallas, Texas, home of the Cowboys, due to a scheduling conflict preventing them from booking the MGM Grand Garden Arena, their usual home of big shows. But what starts in Vegas will be finished in Vegas. UFC has officially set a date for UFC 194, December 12, and it will be headlined by the title fight that we will have been salivating to see for nearly a year by the time it rolls around.

Jose Aldo, the long-reigning featherweight king, pulled out of his UFC 189 bout amidst a swirl of controversy surrounding his pre-fight drug screenings due to an injured rib. The injury allowed Ireland’s Conor McGregor to capture the interim championship over Chad Mendes via a second round TKO.

Dana White batted down rumors earlier this week of a Cyborg Rousey match-up on the card. No other official announcements have been made for this card, but the UFC usually tries to go out big with their end of the year cards so expect this one to stack up fast. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
